Episode 94: Tens, Tones, and Teens

Good morning gamers! Sadly I don't have any new gaming to report back on other than The Simpsons: Tapped Out again. I DID, however, finish the Treehouse of Horror event in Tapped Out and for the first time unlocked ALL of the bonus goodies!

Anywho, let's see what's coming our way this week...

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the biggest release this week coming to Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and will be out on PS4 and Xbox One later this month. This is the 10th in the series and Stephen Lang and Brandon Routh join the cast of voices. For the first time you'll be able to create a FEMALE character. All the classic game modes are back and new multiplayer features like "Search & Rescue" which is an S&D variation, "Cranked" where you have a limited time between each kill before you EXPLODE, "Squads" where all of your created characters battle by your side, and "Extinction" is a zombie survival co-op.

Ben 10: Omniverse 2 comes to Xbox360, PS3, Wii, and Wii U this week. Battle new enemies with new powers as Ben and the array of aliens he can change into.

Zumba Fitness World Party is out on Xbox360, Wii, and Wii U this week. It's a workout game with music from the likes of Lady Gaga and Pitbull.

The Guided Fate Paradox is a PS3 exclusive this week. In this one you play as a high school student who becomes a god after winning a mall lottery.

And that about does it for this week. BIG news for FPS fans, 2 for the kids, and one to keep you moving. Until next week, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 93: Swashbuckling Soldiers Suplexing Star Wars

Good morning fellow gamers! Been a SUPER busy week so I have had ZERO time to game this week other than The Simpsons: Tapped Out on my phone. The Treehouse of Horror Halloween stuff has been a freaking BLAST though!

Before I get into the new stuff, I wanted to mention a really cool charity event going on this weekend. It's from a group called Extra Life and locally my buddy JoAnna (friedricearoni@powerupsnotincluded.com) is participating. The concept is that gamers dedicate a day and an hour (25 hours total) to play video games non-stop to raise funds for a local charity. JoAnna will be playing for Vidant Children's Hospital and has some awesome prizes up for grabs if you donate like a PS3, custom jewelry, and more. Click here to get more info and make a donation.

Now, let's take a look at some new stuff...

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag invades Xbox360, PS3, and Wii U this week. It's the 6th in the series and you play as Edward Kenway, the father and grandfather of the characters in AC3. You'll cross swords with the likes of Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and Anne Bonny in various locales in the Bahamas.

Battlefield 4 makes its way to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. It's a FPS but unlike it's competitor Call of Duty, this one features destructible backgrounds and vehicular warfare. This one brings back the popular "Commander Mode" that was absent in the last version.

WWE 2K14 leg drops its way to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This one includes a HUGE roster and a "30 Years of Westlemania Mode" where you can recreate legendary matches from Wrestlemania.

Angry Birds Star Wars breaks the smartphone border and comes to Xbox360, Wii, Wii U, Vita, and 3DS this week. Same as the original with 20 new levels and competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes.

And a few other games you might want to know about this week:

Sonic: Lost World zips to Wii U and 3DS. (Trailer)

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures haunts Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, PC, and 3DS this week. It's based on the Disney series. (Trailer)

Beyblade: Evolution is a game version of the "battle tops" toys for 3DS with 500 custom components to design your Beyblade. (Trailer)

Monster High: 13 Wishes is a Nintendo exclusive for Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and DS featuring the daughters of legendary monsters like Draculaura. (Trailer)

Football Manager 2014 is a SOCCER sim for PC and Mac.

And there you have it, huge new sequels from big franchises, a kickass charity built by our fellow gamers, and some random games to try out. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 92: Guitar Gods & Superheroes

Good morning gamers! My adventures in Arkham City continue. Had a big battle with The Joker recently and kicked Mr. Freeze's ass before that. I'm pretty excited about playing through the Catwoman missions when I finish with Batman.

But for now, let's see what's coming this week...

Rocksmith 2014 hits Xbox360, PS3, PC, and Mac this week. The Rocksmith series differs from plastic guitar games by having you play a REAL GUITAR OR BASS connected to your game console. There are 85 lessons to increase your abilities as well as games where you use chords to kill zombies or race cars. The game includes tracks from Alice in Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Nirvana, and tons more. Plus 200 songs available for download.

LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes comes to Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. This includes over 100 Marvel heroes from X-men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, and others battling Loki, Magneto, and Dr. Doom.

Batman: Arkham Origins saves the day on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This takes place 5 years BEFORE Arkham Asylum and features Black Mask as the main villain with a $50 million bounty on Batman's head. This one features an online multiplayer mode as well.

Here's a few other games out this week you may want to look into:

How To Survive is a co-op survival DL for Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and PC where you're shipwrecked on a zombie infested island.

Raven's Cry on Xbox360, PS3, and PC is a pirate game where you're out for revenge on those who killed your family and took your hand.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Plankton's Robotic Revenge lands on Xbox360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and DS with you searching Krabby Pattie formula Plankton stole.

Just Dance Kids 2014 on Xbox Kinect and both Wii's has 30 new songs from the big names in pop music.

Wii Party U is a Wii U exclusive with 80 mini games and comes with a Wii Remote Plus and a stand for your GamePad.

And that wraps it up for this week, another adventure into the Arkham files, more LEGO fun, a rockin way to learn to play, and a grab bag of assorted others. Speaking of Rocksmith 2014, click here to register to win a copy of the game before Oct. 27th or listen today thru Friday, Oct. 25th for chances to win in the Safety Helmet Challenge at 5p! Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 91: Lions, Muppets, and Pokemon (Oh My!)

Good morning fellow gamers. My adventure into Arkham City continues. I've been having a blast exploring and grabbing up side missions but lately have been back on the main story and up next is Ra's al Ghul's "Demon Trials" which sounds like all kinds of fun. On the handheld front, The Simpsons: Tapped Out and Zombie Diary have been my favorite time wasters.

Now, on to the new stuff...

Cabela's African Adventure brings the safari to Xbox360, PS3, and Wii this week. It's a hunting game where you'll be after the Big Five: lion, leopard, white rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, and elephant. Comes bundled with Top Shot Elite Firearm gun controller.

Wipeout: Create & Crash smashes its way to Xbox360, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS this week. John Henson and John Anderson from the TV show host new over the top courses or create your own.

Skylanders Swap Force mixes it up on Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, Wii, and 3DS this week. In these games you use character figurines to access new playable characters in game. This edition allows you to mix and match top and bottom halves of new Skylanders to combine their powers. Starter Bundle includes a handful of characters to start your collection.

Pokemon X and Y is your 3DS exlcusive this week. New features include "Mega" forms for fully evolved Pokemon, Sky Battles for flying types, and like other versions some Pokemon will be exclusive to X and some exclusive to Y.

Valhalla Knights 3 is your Vita exlcusive this week. It's a Japanese RPG where you create a 7 man team to battle others.

And there you have it, hunting, racing, something for the kids, and 2 handhelds. Lots to choose from and more to come as the holidays creep ever closer. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 90: Dance, Dishonor, Darkness, and Dafoe

Good morning fellow gamers. Arkham City continues to be my main gaming focus lately. I recently kicked The Penguin's ass and rescued Mr. Freeze but have had a blast doing random side missions and just exploring the massive city. I have also been playing the hell out of The Simpsons: Tapped Out on my smart phone. It's a really fun city builder type of game and right now is the Halloween "Treehouse of Horror" event which are always entertaining. Up next for me will be Grand Theft Auto V since I WON A COPY last week!

But enough about me, let's talk about new...

Just Dance 2014 cha cha's to Xbox360, PS3, Wii, and Wii U this week. As the title suggests, it's a dancing game. There's a new "On-Stage Mode" where one person dances the lead part and the others do backup routines. I'll pass on this one.

BEYOND: Two Souls is a PS3 exclusive this week. This one has had a lot of talk since it stars Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe and includes great looking cinematic scenes and voices from both. Ellen's character, Jodie, is linked to a supernatural entity and Dafoe plays a government scientist who protects and analyzes her as you play as Jodie from ages 8 thru 23.

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is another PS3 exclusive this week. This RPG sequel takes place 10 years after the original as Laharla, a Netherworld overlord, tries to bend his subjects to his will.

Dishonored: Game of the Year Edition lands on Xbox360, PS3, and PC. It's a steampunk style shooter and the Game of the Year Edition features The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, Dunwall City Trials, and Void Walker's Arsenal expansions.

And that does it, something to get you moving, something to blow your mind visually, a fun little RPG, and a blast from the recent past. If you're gaming and want to connect find me on Xbox Live as "BlandoRoxx" or on The Simpsons: Tapped Out as "Blando13". Until next week, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 89: NBA-HD-DLC

Good morning fellow gamers. Lately my gaming has been focused on Arkham City which has been EXCELLENT so far. It's obviously very similar to Arkham Asylum but with a MUCH larger area to cover and I feel like the fighting has been simplified which is fine, I play for the puzzles.

Anywho, let's see what's new out there...

NBA 2K14 hits Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. Lebron James graces the cover and selected this year's soundtrack. New stuff includes Signature Skills that let you grab rebounds and throw behind the back passes and Crew Mode let's you create a logo and face others online.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD hits Wii U this week. It's a remake of the Gamecube classic with better graphics, upgraded controls, and a harder difficulty.

Rain is your DLC on PS3 this week. You play as an invisible boy who is only visible in the unending rain as you chase after a young girl.

So there you go, something for the sports gamers, a remade classic, and a really neat looking DLC game to keep you going. Next on my agenda is to pick up Diablo III for Xbox360 and get my girlfriend hooked on it. I did PC for a while but I prefer console gaming personally. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 88: Soccer Double Dose

Good morning gamers! I got started on Arkham City this past weekend and I'm hooked already. It's got a lot of the same features as Arkham Asylum but with a MUCH bigger map and I feel like it's a lot easier to navigate the outside world than the first game. I'm just getting started thus far but I'll keep you updated as the story unfolds.

Now, let's see what's "kicking" this week...

FIFA 2014 hits Xbox360, PS3, PC, and Vita this week. This is the most popular sports game IN THE WORLD and this year's version adds Ultimate Team mode, a Global Transfer Network for Career Mode, and creative celebrations. Rated E for Everyone.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 lands on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This is the other big name in soccer gaming and this edition adds Motion Animation Stability System that COULD mean the most realistic soccer game ever. MAYBE. Rated E for Everyone.

Armored Core Verdict Day comes to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. 90 new missions and over 150 customization options for your giant robot are the new additions in this 13th game in the series. Rated T for Mild Language and Violence.

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure is on Wii U and 3DS this week. It's the 5th in the Scribblenauts franchise and features THOUSANDS of DC comic characters like Batman and Superman who aid Maxwell in his adventures thru Gotham, Metropolis, Atlantis, and more. E10+ for Cartoon Violence.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out of the Shadows hit Xbox360 LAST month but is just making it to PS3 this week. It's a 4-player downloadable game. Rated T for Violence.

The Apocalypse map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is out on PS3 this week.

And that wraps it up for this week. Plenty of soccer, some great combat gaming, and even something for the kids (or DC geeks). I'll keep plugging away at Arkham City and update as that moves forward. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 87: I Plead the 5th

Good morning gamers! As I mentioned last week, I finished up Tomb Raider recently and it was excellent. My next undertaking will be Arkham City since I had so much fun playing Arkham Asylum. I am also going to grab Defiance and Diablo 3 for Xbox360 when I can. The first for me, the second to play with my girlfriend (gotta diversify your gaming people).

Now, let's get to the part I know you're excited about...

Grand Theft Auto V hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It's set in LA which is called Los Santos in the game and has a map bigger than GTA III and GTA IV COMBINED! This time you'll be able to switch between 3 playable characters: Michael the bank robber, his ex-partner Trevor, and Franklin the repo man. Mini games include scuba diving and base jumping this time around. An online aspect is coming in October that will include new content, online deathmatches and racing, and the ability to join a "Social Club" with friends.

Hot Wheels Worlds Best Driver speeds to Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and 3DS this week. It's a 4 player racing game using classic Hot Wheels vehicles on courses ranging from the Andes to the South Pacific.

Angry Birds Star Wars II hits mobile devices this week. New levels, characters, and a "telepod" that lets you "teleport" characters into the game... whatever the hell that means.

So there you have it. GTA V will be the biggest release (and probably the reason no other big games are coming out today) and is probably the reason you or your friends are "out sick" today. I'll keep you updated as I get into some multiplayer games (and if you want to connect online or have a game I should check out, email me at blando@995thex.com anytime). Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 86: Hearts, Heroes, and Hockey

Good morning gamers! I FINALLY finished Tomb Raider and I have to say, it was excellent start to finish. Great puzzles to solve, just enough action to keep it moving but not enough to take away from the story, and a great ending to boot! Up next I'm grabbing the Xbox360 version of Diablo 3 for me and my girlfriend to play and Arkham City for myself.

Now, let's see what's new...

NHL 14 is out on Xbox360 and PS3. Fighting gets an upgrade with the Fight Night boxing system and bruises that stay throughout the game. For the 20th Anniversary they added retro organ music and button layouts and a NO RULES option!

Puppeteer is a downloadable game for PS3 this week. You play as a boy who's turned into a puppet and gain powers by swapping heads on the way to battle the Moon Bear King.

Killzone: Mercenary hits Vita this week. In this one you'll revisit key events from the trilogy with rewards depending on how well you do.

The Wonderful 101 is on Wii U this week. You control a team of 101 superheroes fighting an alien invasion.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix comes to PS3 this week. It's the first 3 Kingdom Hearts games remastered in HD.

The Elder Scrolls Anthology hits PC this week. It's all FIVE Elder Scrolls games including the legendary edition of Skyrim and physical maps showing the regions where each game took place.

Some sports action, a couple of games for the kids, some handheld ass kicking, and a couple of classic franchise bundles. Not a bad week of games and with the holidays creeping up and new consoles on the way, the releases are just going to keep coming and coming. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 85: Three Or More

Good morning gamers! Sadly I have no new gaming to report on but I have plans to grab Diablo III on Xbox360 so I can get back to being addicted to that. I love the game but over the years I've drifted away from PC gaming and stuck more with console games. Now one of my favorite PC games is heading to console!

Speaking of...

Diablo III comes to Xbox360 and PS3 today. This is the same as the version on PC released in May MINUS the real money auction house that got a lot of Diablo fans up in arms. There's also an expansion coming soon called Reaper of Souls.

Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC. This is a remake of the old Sega Genesis game where Mickey has to rescue Minnie from an evil witch.

Total War: Rome III comes to PC this week. It's a strategy game where the Roman Empire battles the Carthaginians, Macedonians, and Egyptians for control of the Mediterranean.

Rayman Legends hits Xbox360, PS3, and WiiU this week. It's a 4 player except for WiiU where a 5th can act as the shield with the handheld touchscreen pad.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate makes its way to Xbox360 and PS3. This one adds 5 new characters and a "2-on-2" online co-op tag team mode.

And that wraps it up for this week. I'm definitely gonna be grabbing Diablo III on Xbox360 soon and might even check out that Mickey Mouse remake (I remember playing the hell out of the original at my cousin's house). Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Episode 84: Madden Holiday 25

Good morning gamers! Sadly, not much to talk about myself as far as big gaming BUT I have found a really fun new smartphone game for you to check out. It's called Gurk and it's a must have for old school gamers. It's an 8-bit RPG adventure. It's very basic, it's kinda tough, and fun as hell.

Now, onto the new stuff...

Madden NFL 25 hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It's the 25th anniversary of the landmark NFL game and if you're holding out for XboxOne or PS4, you can get a discount that let's you upgrade for around $10. Barry Sanders is your cover athlete this year and new features include an Owner Mode where you control everything from stadium upgrades to moving to a new city, the ability to move players to new positions in the off-season, managing your NFL.com Fantasy Football team thru the game, and uploading custom rosters and playbooks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's Apocalypse Map Pack is out for Xbox360. It includes revamped maps from previous games and a zombie map set in WWI featuring giant robots!

Lost Planet 3 drops on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It's a prequel to the first 2 games as you prepare the ice planet for colonization while fighting the native aliens for resources.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows comes to Xbox360 via Live Arcade this week. It's a 4 player co-op adventure.

Pokemon Rumble hits Wii U this week. It's a fighting game where 4 players can battle with over 100 Pokemon from the first 5 games.

Killer Is Dead lands on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. You play as an assassin with a robot arm that turns into a gun, and you have a sword.

Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn comes to PS3 and PC this week. It's an MMO where a dragon has ravaged the land and it's up to you to fix things.

And that wraps it up for this week. The annual Madden Holiday gets the 25th Anniversary treatment, TONS of new games ranging from kid stuff to shooters to RPGs, and plenty more to come as the holidays creep ever closer. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Episode 83: To Infinity... and Sequels!

Good morning fellow gamers. Sadly not much to report on from my end, still getting settled into the new place so gaming time has been short but I'm very close to  finishing Tomb Raider and after that I think I want to dive into Defiance but I also want to play Arkham City and Bioshock: Infinite so it'll be a tough decision to make.

Anywho, on to what's new...

Splinter Cell: Blacklist hits Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and PC this week. It's the 6th in the series and Sam Fisher is back to prevent a terrorist group from attacking US targets on their "blacklist". A new feature allows multiple targeting to take out a group on the run.

Saints Row IV comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. If you've never played a Saints Row game they are similar to Grand Theft Auto in gameplay but much more silly and over the top. In this game you play as the gang leader again who is now also president of the USA... and your fighting aliens. And there's a Dub Step Gun.

Disney Infinity comes out on Xbox360, Wii, and Wii U this week. This is a device you connect to your console then instead of games, you purchase collectible figurines that you put on the device to play as different Disney characters in their worlds or one you create yourself. 3DS, iPad app, and PC version coming in October.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. It's the second rebooted game in the XCOM franchise You play as an FBI agent in 1962 trying to stop an alien invasion.

And there you have it, some stealthy spy action, some good crazy fun, a new concept for kid's games, and a remade fan favorite. One of the nice things about the end of summer is that the gaming crop is filling back out. Until next week, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Episode 82: Money, Mallards, and Mayhem

Good morning and welcome back fellow gamers! Been a few weeks since I checked in but things in the gaming world have been pretty quiet this summer. Pair that with the fact that I haven't had much game time myself with my recent move. I have been working on getting 100% of all the collectibles in Tomb Raider and only have 2 or 3 areas left to clear out before moving on to the final section of the story. I must say, I'm excited!

Anyway, let's see what's new out there...

Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff hits Xbox360, Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and DS this week. The pair create and customize their All-Terrain Transformatron and search the world for treasure.

Payday 2 comes to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It's a heist game where you and your team rob 30 banks and use the money to upgrade guns and abilities.

Duck Tales Remastered is your DLC on the Playstation Network and PC this week and Xbox360 in September. It's a remake of the 1989 NES classic where you take Scrooge McDuck to places like the Himalayas and Transylvania looking for treasure.

And that wraps it up for this week. I actually remember playing the ORIGINAL Duck Tales game back when I was a kid so I'll def have to grab that one in September. Until next week, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Episode 81: Comic-Econ 2013

Good morning gamers! With the moving process and everything else lately, I haven't touched a controller except to box it up or unpack it. That will change this weekend with an extra mental health day off.

Sadly there are also no new major releases to look at this week! Instead, since I didn't talk about it much while it was happening, here's a look at Comic-Con 2013 by the numbers:

San Diego's Colossal Comic Convention by BuyCostumes.com

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Episode 80: Smurf the Smurfing Smurfers

Good morning gamers! I haven't had a lot of time this week to get any gaming in because I moved to a new place. One nice thing is that we now have 2 Xboxes on 2 seperate TVs so I should be able to get more game time in!

For now, let's see what's new.

The Smurfs 2 is your only big release this week coming to Xbox360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, and DS. Like most video games based on movies, this will follow the movie plot where the Smurfs try to rescue Smurfette from the Naughties and Gargamel. Don't expect too much.

Sadly that's it for new games this week. Comic Con went by recently which surprised me there wasn't more big gaming news announced there but I guess most of that is done at E3 instead.

I guess we'll call it a day for now and until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Episode 79: Super Serious Warriors

Good morning fellow gamers. I've been in the process of moving so I haven't had much time to game lately but I have spent a little more time on Tomb Raider recently. I'm trying to get 100% of the collectibles before I move into the end of the game and have cleared 1 section and am only a few away from clearing section 2. I think my next game will probably be Defiance so I can catch up before the next season of the show premieres.

Now let's take a peek at what's new this week...

Turbo: Super Stunt Squad zooms to Xbox360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, DS, and 3DS this week. This is a 4-player racer where you play as characters from the movie like Smoove Move and Skidmark. Snoop Lion and Ryan Reynolds are among the movie's voice cast and it sounds like they did the voices for the game as well.

Dynasty Warriors 8 slashes it's way to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This series features dozens of ancient Chinese warriors (most of which are real historical figures) who have been given magical attacks to enhance their fighting styles. This edition has a "What If" mode where characters who died in history can live on and rewrite history.

The Serious Sam Collection is your Xbox360 exclusive this week. This includes all 4 Serious Sam games remastered. It's a FPS about a guy fighting an army of invading aliens.

And there you have it, a good racer for the kids, a new hack-n-slash, and a redux of a gamer classic. Probably won't be gaming much this week with the big move this weekend but I should be back to "work" next week. Until then, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Episode 78: Dead, Dark, and Defense

Good morning fellow gamers! My hardcore addiction to Tomb Raider has continued. I've made it to the final checkpoint before the finale so I'm working on getting 100% on all the collectibles before I move forward. I've truly enjoyed this game thus far but now to figure out what to play next is gonna be a tough decision.

Anywho, let's look at the new stuff...

The Walking Dead: 400 Days is available this week as DLC on Xbox360, PS3, and PC. This is a bridge between Season 1 and Season 2 in the game and features 5 new survivors to play through with.

NCAA Football 14 hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This year's edition includes coaches that level up to help with offense, defense, and scouting and you'll be able to get alumni legends like Barry Sanders in digital card packs.

Dark is your Xbox360 exclusive this week. You play as a newly turned vampire searching for his past and investigating a global corporation. This is a stealth action game.

Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is your PS3 exclusive this week. It includes all 8 of the main Metal Gear titles from the past 25 years, 2 graphic novels, and a huge artbook!

And that about wraps it up for this week, some stealth, some football, a little nostalgia, and of course ZOMBIES! Hopefully by next week I'll have Tomb Raider wrapped up and will be moving on to my next gaming adventure. Until then, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, July 2, 2013

Episode 77: Just A Little Vengeance

Good morning fellow gamers! I've finally gotten back into my gaming groove and have been ADDICTED to Tomb Raider. I got caught up in the story and blasted through about half of the game without much exploring and adventuring around other than a few optional tombs I found. Now I've slowed down and started picking up the secrets and treasures as I go... some. I usually play a game through to finish the story and THEN I go back and collect the side stuff (which I need to do with Arkham Asylum eventually).

Not much new to look at this week but let's take a peek...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is releasing the Vengeance map pack this week on Xbox360. This one comes with 4 multiplayer maps (one of which is from the original game) and a new zombie map as well as a new version of the ray gun for killing zombies in an old west mining town.

And that actually does it for this week. Summer is feast or famine with new games so hopefully next week's bounty will be more... well... bountiful! Till then, get out there and get your game on!!

Episode 76: Tough Road Ahead

Good morning gamers! I FINALLY broke my gaming drought wide open over the past few weeks. I took off a few days over the past few weeks so I was able to finish up Bioshock 2 which was excellent. I think I liked the original a little better but the 2nd had a great ending and I can't wait to dive into Bioshock Infinite. For now I'm all over the new Tomb Raider which has been very fun thus far. Challenging puzzles and some fast paced action scenes mixed in to keep it exciting.

Now, let's see what's coming down the warp pipe...

Deadpool hits Xbox360, PS3 and PC this week. For those who don't know, Deadpool is an anti-hero from the Marvel Universe who regularly breaks the "4th Wall" and has just as many snappy comments as deadly moves. With his advanced healing you can reattach lost limbs or simply regrow them. Wolverine, Psylocke, Rogue, Domino, and Cable all make appearances. From the trailer it reminds me of Saints Row 3 in a way.

Ride to Hell: Retribution rolls out on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. You'll play as a Vietnam Veteran who's out for revenge on the biker gang that murdered your brother. This one's set in the 1960's. The trailer has a very "Grindhouse" type of feel which I hope translates to the gameplay.

LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey comes to 3DS and Vita this week. You play as Laval, a lion tribe warrior, as you explore the world of Chima where 8 animal tribes battle for control of a resource called Chi. Trailer looks like a pretty straight forward LEGO game.

Company of Heroes 2 is your PC only for the week. It's a WWII strategy game where you play as the Soviet Red Army as you try to save Mother Russia from the Nazis. This one is a real-time strategy game.

And that wraps it up for this week. Tomb Raider will be eating most of my gaming time for now but I've got quite a few lined up that I want to check out so I've got my work cut out for me. I haven't said much on the Xbox One or PS4 but on first look, I'm thinking I may finally jump ship and go Playstation with this generation but now that Microsoft has changed most of the things I hated it could go either way.

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 75: Remember the Legendary Heroes

Good morning gamers! I ALMOST played some Bioshock 2 this past weekend but ended up taking a nap instead. Damn I miss gaming. Soon... soon.

Anywho, here's what's new:

Marvel Heroes is a FREE MMO for the PC. You start with Daredevil, Storm, Thing, Scarlet Witch, and Hawkeye as playable characters. You can also unlock Spider-Man, Wolverine, and members of The Avengers by playing or you can pay to unlock them faster.

Remember Me comes to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. You play as a memory hunter in the year 2084 when a person's memories can be digitized and sold on the black market. Your character is being hunted but her memory was erased so she doesn't know why.

Skyrim: Legendary Edition is also out this week. It includes the full game, the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn expansions, and new features like mounted combat and a Legendary difficulty.

And that about does it for this week. I'll be on the road all weekend so no gaming again this week but I will get a controller in my hands SOON! Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 74: Runs & Guns

Good morning gamers! I'll skip the weekly excuses of why I haven't played anything lately and get right down to the new stuff...

GRID 2 comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. It's a racing game with cars from 4 different decades and a "Drift" mode where you score points for style. You can also register online and form rivalries with other drivers.

Fuse hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This is a 4 person co-op shooter where you play as part of a team retrieving "Fuse", an alien substance, from the terrorists who stole it. Fuse can power experimental weapons and reflect bullets. Each character also has a weapon that is Fuse powered and these weapons can do more damage when combined.

And there you have it, a new racer and a new shooter to keep you playing. I am making it my GOAL this week to play SOMETHING! ANYTHING!! Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 73: Bounty Hunters, Batman, and Bananas!

Good morning fellow gamers. Sadly I don't have any gaming to report back on. I had all intentions to play Bioshock 2 over the weekend and just never got around to it. Soon... very soon.

Anywho, let's look at what's new!

Resident Evil Revelations hits Xbox360, PS3, and Wii U this week. This one was originally made for the handhelds but has been expanded for consoles and takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is up for download on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and PC this week. It's the 4th in the series and you play as a bounty hunter chasing the likes of Billy The Kid and Jesse James.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D comes to 3DS this week. It was originally released on Wii back in 2010.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has been out on other consoles but hits Wii U this week. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern help Batman and Robin defeat Lex Luthor and The Joker.

Fast & Furious Showdown comes to Xbox360, PS3, PC, Wii U, and 3DS this week. It's based on the movies and there's no trailer so we can only assume that like most video games based on movies, it probably sucks.

That's it for this week kids. Lots of new stuff to keep you gaming and more to come this summer. Until next week, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 72: Double Dose of FPS

Good morning gamers! Sadly, I don't have ANY gaming to report back on. Still plugging away on Bioshock 2 but haven't had time to play in a few weeks. Also, might have to pick up a copy of Defiance sometime soon as I'm LOVING the show on SyFy that syncs up with the game.

Anywho, on to the new...

Metro: Last Light is the only major release this week coming to Xbox360, PS3, and PC. This is a sequel to the 2010 Metro: 2033 and is similar in story to Fallout but as a FPS instead of a 3rd person RPG. You play as a nuclear holocaust survivor fighting mutants with homemade guns.

Uprising DLC is the only other big news this week. It's a map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PS3. It's already out on Xbox360 so those users will get a Double XP Weekend to celebrate the release.

And there you have it, a badass new FPS and some new goodies for the massive Call of Duty franchise. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 71: DLG (Downloadable GAME)

Good morning fellow gamers. Again, sad to report I haven't had much time to game lately. I did get a few minutes in on Bioshock 2 but not much more than that.

Since there's not much to talk about in what's been played, let's look at what's coming up...

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a STAND-ALONE GAME available for download on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and PC. You play as a bionic commando with a robotic arm and eye as you battle through a cyborg army in the aftermath of nuclear war. The game was announced on April 1st so many thought it was a prank!

Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut lands on PS3 this week. It's a comedy themed survival horror game where you play an FBI agent in a small town investigating a series of brutal murders. This version includes DLC with an expanded story and new starting scenario.

Soul Sacrifice comes to Vita this week. You play as a slave trying to build his magical powers to defeat his master but each time you use magic you must sacrifice an item, a limb, or even A LIFE!

And that wraps it up for this week. Summer is approaching fast and the new releases should start rolling out more and more each week. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 70: To Boldly Go Where No Game Has Gone Before

Good morning gamers! What's new? Sadly, work has been getting in the way of my gaming again lately. I've had a little time to play Bioshock 2 here and there but mostly all I've played is Tapped Out (a Simpsons game for smart phones and tablets). If you're playing Tapped Out feel free to add me as a friend (blando13).

Now, let's look at what's new out there...

Star Trek is the biggest release this week coming to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This game fills the gap between the 2009 movie and the upcoming sequel following the Vulcans trying to recreate their home world and accidentally opening a rift in space that allows aliens to come thru, attack them, and steal rift making device. The aliens are a reimagined version of the Gorn from the original Star Trek series.

The game is a co-op shooter with Kirk and Spock as playable characters. Kirk's a "run and gun" and Spock is more stealthy. The game is also voiced by the actors from the movies. Here's a video of William Shatner playing the game or click here to see several videos with THIRTY MINUTES OF GAMEPLAY VIDEO!

Dead Island Riptide hits Xbox360 and PS3. It's a zombie shooter that finds the survivors from Dead Island facing the now infected crew of the ship that rescued them.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is re-releasing on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. New features include 14 new characters, over 100 pieces of new gear, and new achievements.

And that about wraps it up for this week. A HUGE release, a big release, and a re-release to keep you gaming. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 69: To Battle!

Good morning gamers! Lately I haven't played ANYTHING except for Bioshock 2. I had forgotten how much fun I had playing Bioshock and have heard and seen nothing but great reviews of Bioshock Infinite so I'm trying to finish part 2 before moving on the the new one. The tough part will be deciding what to play next but we'll get to that when the time comes.

For now, let's look at some new stuff...

Injustice: Gods Among Us hits Xbox360, PS3, and Wii U today. It's a fighting game built in the DC Universe where Superman has been manipulated by The Joker into creating a New World Order and Batman rebels against Superman's oppression. All the classic DC heroes and villians are on the roster.

Painkiller: Hell & Damnation lands on Xbox360 and PS3 today. It's a combination remake and sequel for the 2004 game Painkiller. It remakes some of the events from the original added to a new storyline centered around a guy in Purgatory on a mission to battle Satan's minions.

Uprising DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is out today on Xbox360. New zombie map centered in Alcatraz, new playable characters like Michael Madsen and Ray Liotta, and 4 new multiplayer maps.

And that about wraps it up for this week. A great new fighter, a brutal old school shooter, and new toys for the COD players. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 68: NOTHING

Good morning gamers. Seeing as there are NO MAJOR RELEASES THIS WEEK (which seems odd) I thought I'd share this really long and detailed infographic about now Nintendo has DOMINATED the gaming world over the years. Enjoy!

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Episode 67: And Now For Something Completely Different

Good morning gamers! Hopefully everyone has had time during this extended winter to get some gaming in. I finally finished the story mode in Batman: Arkham Asylum and was thoroughly satisfied. I will continue working on finding the secrets and doing the challenges when I have time but my next priority is to beat Bioshock 2. Then it'll be time for Arkham City and/or Bioshock: Infinite. I also found a great game to waste hours on my phone called Dark Legends which is a pretty basic but fun RPG.

Also, if you are an online gamer I'm on Xbox Live (BlandoRoxx) as well as World of Warcraft (Frostmane server) and Diablo 3 under my email address blando@995thex.com if you want to drop me an invite!

But enough about me, let's talk about NEW!

Defiance comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This marks a whole new experience in gaming because this game is attached to a show on SyFy. And I don't mean it's based on a show, both the game and the show will affect one another on a weekly basis! For now you will be searching alien wreckage for their technology. The show premieres April 15th at 9pm on SyFy.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This includes all the DLC for the original title AND additional enhancements to the game.

That wraps it up for this week. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Episode 66: Third Time's The Charm

Good morning fellow gamers. Hopefully the cold weather has given you time to stay indoors and get gaming. Sadly, I've been so damned busy lately I haven't played much but I did get on World of Warcraft with my little brother recently and have thoroughly enjoyed playing my Pandaren Monk thus far.

But enough about me, let's talk about new!

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. This is the 3rd in the series and Salem and Rios take a backseat as Alpha and Bravo take the lead character roles. For those new to the series, these games focus heavily on 2 man cooperative play and maneuvers.

Bioshock Infinite comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This time around you leave Rapture for the floating city of Columbia. You play as Detective Booker searching for Elizabeth, a woman with psychokinetic powers, who's caught between factions battling for control of the city.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 rolls out on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. Play against legends like Arnold Palmer or current stars like Tiger. The new Dynamic Weather Conditions feature uses The Weather Channel to portray accurate current weather on courses. There's also a new Legends of the Majors mode that lets you play courses as they were in the past... using equipment from that time period!

And that about wraps it up for this week. A great 2 man, an epic 1 player, and a great sports game. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 65: Battles, Brothers, and Boobies

Gaming has been very slow for me lately because I've been so damned busy! I did sneak in a few minutes of Arkham Asylum but am stuck at another spot. This time it's a puzzle and not a fight I'm stuck on so it'll be fun trying to solve instead of infuriating that I'm not stealthy enough, haha.

But enough about me, let's talk about NEW...

Gears of War: Judgement is your Xbox360 exclusive this week. It's the 4th in the series and is a prequel to the original trilogy. This time you play as Kilo Squad led by Baird and Cole. 2 new multiplayer modes and a "Smart Spawn System" that drops you closer or further from the fight depending on your level of play.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct comes to Xbox360, PS3, and Wii U this week. This is set before the TV series and you play as Merle and Daryl as they battle to survive.

The Croods: Prehistoric Party! hits Wii U, Wii, 3DS, and DS this week with the movie in theaters Friday. You can play 30 mini games with the Crood family members.

LEGO City Undercover drops on Wii U and 3DS this week. You play as detective Chase McClane and use disguises to stop the evil Rex Fury's crime wave.

Monster Hunter3 Ultimate comes to Wii U and 3DS this week. 200 quests await as you explore the Monster Hunter universe.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus is your Vita exclusive this week. It's a fighting game but the emphasis is on the physics and look of the girls and they gigantic boobies.

And that wraps it up for this week. A nice broad spectrum of games to choose from and plenty more to come as the summer months get closer. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Episode 64: Return to Battle

Lately I've been busy moving my girlfriend in so I haven't had much time to game. I did get World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria installed and upgraded and started my Pandaren Monk which has been a ton of fun. Mostly just gaming on my phone with Tapped Out and Shipwrecked.

But enough about me, let's talk about some new games...

Sniper 2: Ghost Warrior comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. Much like in the real world, you'll rely heavily on your spotter to help you account for wind speed, breathing rate, and more as you take down targets long range.

God of War: Ascension is exclusively on PS3 today. 7th game in the franchise and a prequel to the entire series. This is the first to include a multiplayer mode where you can earn rewards from the gods.

Only 2 new games coming this week but God of War is definitely one of the most anticipated in quite a while. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Episode 63: Reboots & Sequels Galore!

Happy Tuesday fellow geeks! Haven't had a lot of time to game lately but I did get past the part in Arkham Asylum that I was stuck on and am now heading off to fight Poison Ivy. I've also found a great phone game called Tapped Out that is like a simplified Sims but featuring The Simpsons.

Now, on to the new games...

Tomb Raider comes to Xbox360, PS3, and PC today. This is the origin story of Lara Croft as she gets stranded on an island and must learn survival techniques while being hunted by mercenaries. This game marks 2 firsts for the series: a MATURE rating and a multiplayer mode.

Sim City lands on PC this week. It's the 6th version of the game where you will balance industry and green living among other aspects that will affect your city and its residents. This version also features a multiplayer mode where you can work with other cities to build "Great Works" like a space center or solar farm.

MLB 13: The Show is Sony's exclusive coming to PS3 and Vita. New features include a Beginner Mode, Franchise Mode with a big focus on your team's budget, and Postseason mode.

MLB 2K13 is the non-exclusive coming to Xbox360 and PS3. The big draw in this series is the Total Control Pitching and Hitting systems.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 hits Xbox360 and PS3 this week. The story mode is based on the most recent events of the anime series.

That wraps up the new releases but there's a few other big stories in the gaming world...

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was announced yesterday. It will hit stores Oct. 29th and you play as a pirate who is the main character from AC3's grandfather!

And that about wraps it up for this week. Plenty of new games and one to look forward to. Until next time get out there and get your game on!

Episode 62: Get Dirty

Happy Tuesday fellow gamers. My regular gaming has slowed down some but I have finished building my first house in Skyrim: Hearthfire and have done about half of the decorating I want to get done. At some point I'll look into adopting a kid or two then get back to finishing the Stormcloak quest line and figure out which expansion I want to invest in next. I'm thinking Dragonborn. I also found a fun new Android game based on The Simpsons called Tapped Out. It's basically The Sims but set in Springfield with Simpsons characters... AND IT'S FREE!

Now, let's look at some new games...

MUD lands on Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It's the official game of FIM Motocross World Championship and let's you race on exact replicas of circuit tracks from around the world.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus silently comes to Vita this week. If you are new to the Ninja Gaiden series (or like me and can't beat the first level) you'll be able to turn on Hero Mode to help you thru the tough parts! There's also a Ninja Race mode where you try to combo thru the level as quickly as possible.

And that about wraps it up for the new stuff. If you missed the big news, Playstation 4 has been announced. As of now it's called Orbis and not much is set in stone thus far but a built in camera and a touchpad on the controller have been announced and several other specs and launch games.

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 61:Enhanced Heroes

My gaming schedule is FINALLY back where I like it. My girlfriend has gotten rehooked on Skyrim and by watching I've gotten back into it myself. We both downloaded the Hearthfire expansion and have built houses which has been a blast. Also been playing a good bit of Diablo 3 (made my way to Hell difficulty now) and World of Warcraft and even ordered Mists of Pandaria over the weekend!

Anyway, enough about me. What's new with you?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance comes to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. You play as a cyborg ninja named Raiden against the military group, Desperado Enterprises. This is the 9th in the series and features a new "cutting system" where you can slow down and slice up your enemy with precision cuts from your sword.

Crysis 3 hits Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This time you'll take on the Seven Wonders inside an urban rainforest within Liberty Dome as The Prophet in the year 2047.

And that's it for new stuff this week. Although it's only 2 releases, both are from very successful franchises and look like a freakin BLAST! 2012 had some great games and 2013 is shaping up to be a nice follow up year.

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Episode 60: Aliens vs. Gangsters

I made it through Nightmare on Diablo 3 over the weekend! Haven't dived into Hell just yet but that will come soon. My girlfriend is back addicted to Skyrim and has been playing her ass off lately. Eventually we may get around to grabbing some of the DLC but there's still plenty of stuff for both of us to do in the original story lines.

Now, on to the new stuff...

Aliens: Colonial Marines lands on Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This is a video game sequel to the movie Aliens and if you pre-ordered you'll receive Ripley's flamethrower and a chance to play as one of the Marines from the movie!

Omerta: City of Gangsters comes to Xbox360 and PC. This is a strategy game where you are an immigrant working his way up the criminal ladder in 1920s Atlantic City during the Prohibition Era.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 and  Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed also hit this week on the 3DS.

And that wraps it up for the new stuff. Slow trickle on the new games until Summer gets closer and hopefully me and my brother will have time to get on World of Warcraft together in the near future so I can get my WoW fix.

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Episode 59: The Returns

My gaming schedule has been a little sparse still. Still stuck in the same spot on Arkham Asylum and haven't had my laptop with me to play Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft but my girlfriend has been getting back into Skyrim so that should give me plenty of time for PC gaming here soon.

Now, let's look at what's new this week...

Dead Space 3 lands on Xbox360, PS3, and PC this week. This is the first time in the series where you can play the campaign online with a friend. You play as Isaac Clarke and John Carver as they try to find the source of the Necromorphs (reanimated humans).

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 comes to Xbox360 and Wii U this week. It's based on a Japanese manga cartoon and you basically rip through each levels nonstop enemies WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time hits Vita and PS3 this week. 4th in the series and 1st in EIGHT YEARS. Sly and a friend are trying to find the pages of their ancient Thieves book, Thievius Raccoonus.

Fire Emblem: Awakening makes its way to 3DS this week. This is the 11th game in the series and features an upgraded "Avatar" system where you can create and design your character.

Lots of great sequels to keep your gaming going strong and plenty of great games to come as the year rolls on. This weekend I'll be getting into Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft as much as possible and maybe a few other things.

Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Episode 58: Greatest Hit(man)s

Happy Tuesday fellow gamers. Things got a little busy so my gaming has slowed down but I have played a little Arkham Asylum (although I'm still stuck in the same spot) and restarted Darksiders on Easy because it's been kicking my ass and I really enjoy the game so I want to finish it instead of getting too frustrated and quitting again. Been itching to get back to work on Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft so that will have to happen soon.

Now, on to the new stuff: one new game, one new DLC, and a greatest hits!

Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear lands on Xbox360 and PC this week. It's a first person shooter (FPS) where you are a spy with stolen nuclear facility plans from the Iranians. 4 players can team up and vehicles include tanks and helicopters.

Revolution is the first of four DLC packs for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and lands this week. It comes with 4 new multiplayer maps, a Zombies co-op map, a new Zombies mode, and a new weapon called the Peacemaker (an SMG/assault rifle hybrid).

Hitman Trilogy HD is a remastered collection coming to Xbox360 and PS3 this week. It includes Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. The original game and newest Hitman games aren't included.

And that about wraps it up for this week, new stuff to enjoy and an easy way to pick up a trio of classics. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Episode 57: Back To the Minors

Morning gamers. Luckily I've had plenty of free time lately so I've been able to keep my gaming pretty regular. I've been crackhead addicted to Arkham Asylum but hit a point where I'm having some trouble (one of the stealthy parts, I'm never good at stealth) so I haven't been playing quite as much but I refuse to give up so I'll get past it eventually. I've also restarted Darksiders which I played a few years back and lost track of at some point. My girlfriend also picked up a copy of The Testament of Sherlock Holmes the other day and has been really enjoying it thus far.

Now, on to the new stuff. No MAJOR releases this week but a pair of little guys you might want to check out.

The Cave is a downloadable game for Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, and PC coming out this week. In this one you explore a mysterious cave as a group of seven adventurers.

No Ni Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch lands on PS3 today. You play as a boy that ventures to a parallel universe to try and resurrect his mother in this Japanese RPG.

Before I go I want to thank Dr. Pepper for making the Geek Speak possible this week. Buy a 20 oz bottle, look under the cap, and enter your code at DrPepper.com to receive a $10 off value for select EA Sports titles!

And that about wraps it up for this week. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!

Episode 56: The Hunters

Now that all the holiday craziness has gone, my gaming schedule is filling back up. I've been crackhead addicted to Arkham Asylum ever since Xmas and damn what an amazing game. I'm over halfway through and can't wait to finish it up and move on to Arkham City. Also, my brother got me Cataclysm for Xmas so I got back on World of Warcraft and have created myself a Worgen to check out the new areas and such. Gonna take some time to get my main characters back to glory but that's half the fun.

Before we dive into the new stuff, I saw a story I had to share. A dad in China was fed up with his son's World of Warcraft addiction. The kid was 23 and couldn't keep a job due to his gaming. His dad hired VIRTUAL ASSASSINS to help. He paid them to kill his son's character whenever he signed on. The kid eventually got discouraged and asked the guys why they were after him so they told him his dad hired them. He confronted his dad and finally had a serious chat about his future. Might not be the final solution to the problem BUT it got the conversation started.

Now, on to some new games...

DMC (Devil May Cry) lands on Xbox360 and PS3 today. It's a reboot of the Devil May Cry series that features Dante, son of an angel and a demon, who fights evil using the powers of both sides.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is your new DLC this week for Borderlands 2. This takes place after the main story as you join Hammerlock hunting new enemies and earning better guns.

Episode 55: Lucky 13

It's a week late but... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone had a great, game-filled holiday. Up until Xmas I spent most of my game time pounding away at Diablo 3. Finally got my Witch Doctor to Hell difficulty which has been a ton of fun thus far.

For Xmas I picked up Batman: Arkham Asylum from my girlfriend and have been ADDICTED! The game plays like a combination puzzle solver, hand-to-hand fighter, and RPG all rolled into one great game. The sequel, Arkham City, is also great from what I hear but I figured it made more sense to play the original first.

Also for Xmas, my little brother got me World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and a 2 month game card. I haven't played WoW since just after the Cataclysm first happened so I never actually got to play the Goblin or Worgen races or check out the new areas they opened up. I know World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is also out there but my plan is to get to the level max on Cataclysm and play with the new races THEN I'll pick up Mists of Pandaria and make a Pandaren Monk and go from there.

Also in the past few weeks, I've discovered that Trade It (a chain of pawn shops) has some random "diamond in the rough" games from time to time. In the past 2 weeks I picked up Blue Dragon and Darksiders for less than $5 each! I know both are several years old but I played each briefly when they were new and never finished them so now I have them whenever I want to get around to wrapping them up.

Being right after the holidays, not really any new games rolling out at the moment BUT I found a really cool list at ArcadeSushi.com of the 25 Best NES Games and I pretty much agree with all of them:

1.)  "Super Mario Bros. 3"

2.)  "The Legend of Zelda"

3.)  "Castlevania 3:  Dracula's Curse"

4.)  "Metroid"

5.)  "Contra"

6.)  "Super Mario Bros."

7.)  "Mega Man 2"

8.)  "Bionic Commando"

9.)  "Punch-Out!!"

10.)  "Kid Icarus"

11.)  "Tetris"

12.)  "Final Fantasy"

13.)  "Castlevania"

14.)  "Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link"

15.)  "Super Mario Bros. 2"

16.)  "Blaster Master"

17.)  "R.C. Pro-Am"

18.)  "Tecmo Bowl"

19.)  "Ninja Gaiden"

20.)  "Battletoads"

21.)  "Baseball Stars"

22.)  "Metal Gear"

23.)  "River City Ransom"

24.)  "Dragon Warrior"

25.)  "Ducktales"

Before I go I want to thank Dr. Pepper for making the Geek Speak possible this week. Buy a 20 oz bottle, look under the cap, and enter your code at DrPepper.com to receive a $10 off value for select EA Sports titles!

And that wraps it up for this week. Until next time, get out there and get your game on!
